FAQ

  • If I need to change the hard drive, what type does it support?

Almost any internal SATA hard drive should fine.
However, we recommend 2.5" (laptop-class) hard drives instead of 3.5" (desktop-class) hard drives to avoid excessive power draw from the NVR's motherboard.

  • Can I talk-back to people I see through the cameras?

The included cameras only have microphones, not have speakers; so, you can only hear sound captured by the camera's microphone (through the app).
Without speakers, the camera has no way to broadcast any audio stream that you attempt to send to it (through the app).

  • Can I deploy the cameras in harsh climatic conditions?

Yes, you mostly can.
Each camera's operating temperature range is -10°C to +50°C (+14°F to +122°F).

  • How do I quickly check if a camera is receiving power?

There are infrared LEDs around the camera lens.
Use your palm or any other object to cover/darken the camera's front view. If the IR LED lights fail to light up, we suggest you try a different power supply.

  • How do I extend the signal range of the camera?

The NVR's antennas have a wireless range of up to 1000ft in open areas without obstacles, and about 200ft with obstacles (1 wall).
To tackle weak signals, each of our cameras can act as a relay antenna. A camera with a strong signal can serve as a wireless repeater for another camera with a poor signal.
The NVR is equipped with an inbuilt utility that can configure the cameras in that manner; quite handy for bypassing obstacles and also to indirectly extend the NVR's wireless range.

  • Is there any way to check if the NVR is properly connected to the internet?

Yes, there is. You will need direct physical access to the NVR in order to check.
While the NVR is connected to a display unit (monitor, TV set, etc.), also connect a mouse to it, then go through the following steps:
- Click on the home icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen, then select "Version".
- Check if "Nat Status" reads "Connected".

  • How do I find the NVR's Cloud ID?

On the NVR (not the mobile app):
- Click on the home icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen, then select "Version".
- The "Serial No." (about 12 characters long) shown on this page corresponds to the NVR "Cloud ID".

  • I still can't access the NVR remotely, despite properly connecting it to the internet.

First make sure you have installed the correct app on your phone (TSEYE), then try the following:
- If you had already registered on the app, please sign out. Tap on the "Me" icon at the bottom right; tap on your profile ID at the top, then "LOGOUT".
- Tap on "Log in locally".
- Tap on the "+" sign at the top-right corner of the screen, then select "XVR/NVR".
- For "Name", feel free to input anything, maybe "home", "office", etc.
- Make sure you are under the "Serial Number" tab.
- For "SN", input the NVR's Cloud ID.
- Make sure you use the same user name and password as the ones the NVR. If you have no password on the NVR, please use "admin" for user name and just leave the password field blank/empty.
- Tap on "ADD DEVICE" at the top-right corner of the screen.
- The NVR should now appear on the "Device List". You can tap on it to connect.
